House dust mites are microscope insects that primarily live on dead skin cells regularly shed from humans and their animal pets. Dust mites can cause adverse reactions in asthmatics and others who are allergic to their faeces. Lounging areas, mattresses, frequently used furniture and associated carpeted areas are always subject to a build up of human skin cells, which in turn breeds dustmites. A typical mattress can contain tens of thousands of dust mites and nearly 100,000 mites can live in one square yard of carpet. A single dust mite produces about 20 waste droppings a day, each containing a protein to which many people are allergic. Beds are a prime habitat (where 1/3 of life occurs). A typical used mattress may have anywhere from 100,000 to 10 million mites inside. Ten percent of the weight of a two year old pillow can be composed of dead mites and their droppings! The cleaners would thoroughly wipe, dust and clean all items such as personal effects, inside drawers, cupboards and shelves. We would use the steam cleaner to thoroughly disinfect all mattresses, chairs, sofas, curtains and surfaces. The dust mites cleaning work would be reviewed by one of our supervisors afterwards, to liaise with you and ensure the clean has been carried out to your satisfaction. Dust Mites Cleaning Prices. In most cases, properties requiring dust mites cleaning are occupied by tenants, which prohibits us carrying out work to the deep cleaning specification whereby the property needs to vacant. Dust mites cleaning work is therefore charged by the hour, as due to the differences between the amount of personal items within each property, the cleans can vary in duration and complexity. We charge £12 per hour per cleaner for Dust Mites elimination work, with a minimum call out charge of £100.
